What if I already have a care plan elsewhere?

If you have a care plan elsewhere but want to switch to us, then you’ll need to contact your existing provider and cancel your plan. You should find out what their cancellation policy is prior to this.

When do I have to pay an excess?

If you choose a policy with a £60 excess, you will only pay an excess once per fault diagnosed.

How long is the contract for?

All our contracts last for 12 months from the date they’ve been accepted. We’ll be in touch when your renewal day gets closer, at this point you can either cancel the plan or we’ll automatically renew the care plan you were previously on.

What are your response times?

We have a large workforce of highly trained gas safe engineers, who will always offer the earliest possible appointment – this is usually within 24 hours. During extremely busy times, this might not always be possible, but we will prioritise you and always keep you informed.

What types of property do you offer care plans to?

Our care plans are for properties that are designed for residential use* that you, or someone else, live in – including any attached garage or conservatory. *A building with fewer than half of the rooms used for a commercial purpose.

Can I buy packages if I rent or let my property?

Yes, absolutely. Landlords will need a Landlord Gas Safety Certificate (or CP12) but we will do this for you as part of your landlord cover plan if your system meets our criteria. Your tenants can then just call us directly and we will deal with their issue, saving you time and money.

Can I sign up today but choose a future date for my care plan to start?

Yes, when you choose your plan you can select the date you’d like it to begin from. One of our gas safe registered engineers will need to inspect & service your boiler to accept the care plan.

What happens once I've taken out my plan?

Your contract officially starts on the day you’ve chosen as long as one of our engineers have inspected & serviced your boiler and accepted the plan. They’ll give you all of the relevant paperwork and we’ll send over a confirmation and a renewal date reminder.

Where are your call centres based?

Our call centres are UK based and are able able to help with any & every issue you may have.

Do you subcontract any repair work?

All of our Gas Safe Registered Engineers work entirely within North West Gas, we do not contract any repair work to other companies.
